Each week we're showcasing an accessory we’ve fallen in love with. A single piece, elusive enough to stand on its own. An object that’s not only pleasing to the eye, but has a similarly unique and personal story.

Pronunciation: LAY-dee GREHY

Established: 2009

Signature: Gold chokers and horse shoes

Since launching Lady Grey in 2009, founders and co-designers Jill Martinelli and Sabine Le Guyader have steadily grown their label from indie startup to industry mainstay. Known for their architecturally-inspired gold and silver pieces, the pair met whilst studying Sculpture and Metals at Massachusetts College of Art. After realizing they had both worked in dentistry as teenagers (an eery collection of mouthguards and braces still sits in their Greenpoint studio), the pair decided to launch their label.

The beauty of Lady Grey’s pieces lies in their simplicity. Simple chokers with ornamental ends are a staple for the brand, as are statement earrings and, as seen above, smooth metal bracelets. This iteration features a unique wraparound quality, with one piece of wire creating the illusion of two separate bracelets. Their dynamic, standout creations make them a brand worth coming back to, time and time again.
